Crucial Decisions in the Case of Kim Gómez

The case regarding the crime of Kim Gómez in La Plata is at a crucial moment, as Judge María José Lescano will make a decision on whether the 14-year-old boy suspected of the crime will remain detained. The resolution was expected to be given last Friday; however, the judge requested more time and scheduled to announce her decision this Monday.

Prosecutor Carmen Ibarra has requested that the young man remain detained in a maximum-security juvenile institution until he reaches adulthood. However, there is evidence that could indicate the boy was not involved in the crime. The statement from Florencia, who claimed not to recognize the person accompanying the 17-year-old offender, the security camera footage, and the results of an examination of the car, where the fingerprints of the minor were not found, would support this position.

In this context of uncertainty, Judge Lescano is expected to issue her verdict today. Meanwhile, on Sunday, a march was held in honor of Kim on 18th Street and 72, where neighbors and family gathered to remember the deceased girl.
